My Story
Over the span of a decade, from 1990 to 2000, I dedicated myself wholeheartedly to the fierce competition of European championships, consistently gracing the podium with my presence. It was a period marked by unyielding determination and relentless pursuit of excellence. Amidst this whirlwind of competitions, two standout moments shimmered brightly in my memory - the crowning glory of a world gold in Manila in 1997, followed by a silver medal in Rio de Janeiro in 1998. These triumphs weren't merely victories; they were the culmination of years of unwavering commitment and sacrifice. However, behind the glitz and glamour of the medals lay a narrative of struggle and perseverance. Financial constraints cast a looming shadow over my journey, forcing me to navigate the precarious balance between athletic pursuits and the demands of a full-time job. Yet, fueled by an insatiable hunger for success, I pressed on, refusing to let adversity dictate the course of my dreams. In 1997, as the pinnacle of opportunity beckoned, fate dealt me a cruel blow. A looming health issue threatened to derail my aspirations, dangling the prospect of surgery like a specter of uncertainty. Despite the odds stacked against me, I made a bold decision to forge ahead, embarking on a journey fraught with risks and unknowns. The Philippines awaited, a distant land teeming with both promise and peril. What ensued was a performance for the ages, a testament to the indomitable spirit that burned within me. Yet, amidst the cheers of victory, it was the camaraderie of my teammates that left an indelible mark on my soul. Together, we stood as a beacon of resilience, united by a common purpose and an unwavering resolve to defy the odds. Yet, for all the glory and triumph, the path was not without its trials. Personal growth demanded sacrifices, testing my resolve in ways I never thought possible. The burden of leadership weighed heavy on my shoulders, compelling me to mask my doubts and fears behind a facade of unwavering strength.
